CAMERON GOODHEAD
Masters by Research student
I am a Masters by Research student, with my research focusing on the use of drones for monitoring Bornean orangutan populations in Central Kalimantan, Borneo. I will be testing the efficacy of the use of drones for spotting orangutan nests and the use of thermal cameras on drones for spotting orangutans in the canopy at night. For this project, I am collaborating with Borneo Nature Foundation and the University of Palangka Raya.
I also completed my BSc at the University of Exeter, with my undergraduate research project focusing on Bornean orangutan nest site selection. I am interested in global conservation, human-wildlife interactions, primate biology and conservation, and the use of technology for assisting with conservation practises.
